Native Flora Honey – from the beautiful Far North bush
Our native flora honey is collected by our wonderful bees from the many stands of native bush in the beautiful Far North. Native Flora is a delcious blend of many of the native flowers – rewarewa, towai, pohutukawa, clover and all the other beautiful plants that flower during summer – tasting it is like experiencing the Far North bush on a summer’s day.
All honey is rich in vitamins, enzymes, pollen, minerals and amino acids, all of which are deeply nourishing to the skin and our bellies. Enjoy in tea, baking, as a face mask or to soothe a sore throat 🙂 Used in its raw form it is wonderful as a gentle and nourishing face mask or scrub.
Honey has been used in beauty regimes since the time of Cleopatra (milk and honey baths) and is only increasing in popularity, especially the world famous manuka honey. Chinese women are said to have had a tradition of using a blend of honey and ground orange seeds to keep their skin blemish-free.
Honey also contains powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals and can reverse cell degeneration. As well as revitalising and restoring skin by gently stimulating cell renewal, honey is deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory and also cleansing.
